Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
SEO Optimizer reads the public pages of websites and tells you what to change to be found better in search. This page explains, in plain language, which personal data we handle to do that, why, who else is involved and what your rights are.
Who we are
SEO Optimizer (dboseo.com) is a product of DatabaseOnline and SQLTreeo. It is operated by Databaseonline B.V., Kade 28, 4703 GG Roosendaal, The Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce number 30171190). We are responsible for the personal data described on this page. For questions about privacy, or to use one of your rights, write to info@databaseonline.nl.
The short version
- We only read public web pages: your own and those of the competitors you name. We never change anything on any website.
- We do not show ads, we do not sell data and we do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
- We use a small number of companies to run the service: for hosting and e-mail, payments and the AI features. They are listed below.
- You can delete a website, with everything we hold about it, at any time. To delete your account, ask us.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why we need it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Account: your e-mail address, the name of your company or team, optionally your name, and when you last signed in | To create your account, send you sign-in links and keep your account secure. | Performing our agreement with you |
| Websites and competitors: the addresses you add and your settings (schedule, report recipients, focus keywords) | To run the analyses you asked for and send your reports. | Performing our agreement with you |
| Results of the analyses: what we read on public pages (titles, descriptions, headings, word counts, topics, structured data types, response times, short extracts of text) and the scores and advice we calculate from it | To give you advice and to show your progress over time. | Performing our agreement with you |
| Report recipients: the e-mail addresses you enter | To send the reports you set up. Each recipient first gets an e-mail asking to confirm, and every report has an unsubscribe link. | Consent of the recipient |
| Search engine connections (optional): the access credentials you give us and the search figures we read with them (clicks, impressions, positions, search phrases and pages) | To sharpen your advice with real search figures. Access is read-only, credentials are stored encrypted, and you can disconnect at any time. | Your consent |
| Payments: a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription, your plan and its status. We never see your card number. | To give you the plan you pay for and to keep the records the law requires. | Performing our agreement; legal obligation |
| License keys you activate | To give your account the plan the key stands for, for as long as it is valid. | Performing our agreement with you |
| Technical data: IP addresses (used to limit abuse, removed within about a day) and logs of requests to our service (what was requested, when, the result and errors) | To keep the service secure and running, and to find and fix errors. | Our legitimate interest in a secure, working service |
We do not collect personal data about visitors of this public site: there is no analytics and no tracking on it.
Cookies
This public site sets no cookies. When you sign in to the app we set one cookie, seo_session, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, it is not readable by scripts (HttpOnly), it is only sent to our own site and it lasts at most 7 days or until you sign out. We use no analytics or advertising cookies and load nothing from other companies.
Who else handles your data
These companies process data for us. We chose providers that publish how they protect data, and we share only what is needed for the task.
| Provider | What they do | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure | Hosts the service and its database, and delivers our e-mails (sign-in links and reports). Our data is stored in the West Europe region (the Netherlands). | All data described above, stored on our behalf; your e-mail address when we send you a message. |
| Stripe | Handles payments and invoices. | Your e-mail address, company name and payment details, which you enter on Stripe’s own pages. |
| Anthropic | Powers two features: finding competitors you may not know (a web search) and writing suggested titles and descriptions. | For the search: the name, address, language, focus keywords, main topics and a few page titles of your website. For suggested wording: the path, current title, description and main heading of a page, search phrases from a connected search engine and up to about 800 characters of the page’s text. Never your account details or e-mail address. |
| Google, Microsoft Bing, Yandex | Only if you connect them: they provide your search figures. | The access you grant them, to us. We receive search figures; we send them nothing about you. |
Some providers, such as Stripe and Anthropic, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as the EU standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and its data: as long as your account exists.
- A website: until you delete it. Deleting a website removes its competitors, analyses, advice, statistics and saved search engine connections.
- Sign-in links work once and expire after 15 minutes. Sessions end after at most 7 days.
- Abuse protection counters (which include IP addresses): removed within about a day.
- Request logs: 30 days.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
To delete your whole account, write to info@databaseonline.nl from the e-mail address of the account. We delete it without undue delay and within one month.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it or to move it to another service, and you can object to processing that is based on our legitimate interest. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time, for example by disconnecting a search engine or unsubscribing from a report. Write to info@databaseonline.nl and we will answer within one month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can also complain to your national data protection authority.
Our crawler, for website owners
SEO Optimizer reads public pages on behalf of its customers, including the websites of their competitors. If you run a website and see requests from us in your logs, this is who we are:
- The user agent is
SeoOptimizerBot. It sends ordinaryGETrequests for public pages, reads a limited number of pages at a time with pauses in between, and never logs in, submits forms or changes anything. - We follow your
robots.txt. To keep us out of your whole website, add this:
User-agent: SeoOptimizerBot
Disallow: /
If our crawler causes you trouble, or you want us to stop reading your website, write to info@databaseonline.nl.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we say so in the app or by e-mail. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
